Cocoa beans have been known since antiquity in Central and South America. They were introduced to Westerners by the Aztecs during the conquest of the New World.

To be eaten preferably peeled. You will very quickly get used to the bitter taste.
They may also be used in cooking. Grated or crushed, they can be used to enhance your dishes (sauces, salads…) and desserts with a strong refined aroma.
You may also roast them in a pan and then ground them into a powder, to obtain what is called nibs. Nibs are used for example for breading meat or fish. It also serves as a basis for the manufacture of chocolate once sugar has been added.
They are very rich in antioxidants, contain a great source of magnesium and high in iron, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, copper ... These are excellent tonics, and protect the brain and cardiovascular systems.
